Psalm 139

1O LORD, you have searched me and known me!
2You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
3You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways.
4Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O LORD, you know it altogether.
5You hem me in, behind and before,
and lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is high; I cannot attain it.

7 Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
8 If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
9If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.
11If I say, "Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and the light about me be night,"
12 even the darkness is not dark to you;
the night is bright as the day,
for darkness is as light with you.

23Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

It's so wonderful that God is always there for us, but we have to remember that, because of this, we can never hide from Him. Whatever we THINK, He knows, whatever we DO, He knows, whatever we SPEAK, He hears, even if we think we are alone.

I have so many times forgotten this and thought I could hide things from God. How I have been deceived! What in the world was I thinking? I am so grateful that God knows all these things about me and still loves me and will forgive me if I repent. I am reminded of what David said when he sinned with Bathsheba:

"Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight," ~~Psalm 51:4

I want to be like David and always acknowledge my sin and repent so I can receive God's complete forgiveness.

"7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones that you have broken rejoice.
9 Hide your face from my sins,
and blot out all my iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from your presence,
and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
12Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.'

~~Psalm 51:7-12

Thank you, Lord for your unconditional love and forgiveness. Help me to keep on the right path and keep my eyes on Jesus.
